Minor in Dance, Auditions
Dance minor auditions are held at the start of each fall semester. The audition includes ballet, modern, jazz and tap. The faculty teach combinations in each style, so students are not required to have anything prepared, just bring appropriate shoes.
The audition serves two purposes: acceptance into the dance minor and placement into dance classes for both new students in the minor and also for anyone else who is interested in taking dance classes at Penn State.
Students auditioning for the dance minor are required to audition in ballet, modern, and jazz. Tap is optional, but if a student wishes to take tap class either fall or spring semester, he or she must audition for placement.
Students auditioning for placement in classes should only audition for the style(s) they wish to take.
Audition Dates:
Dec 6 - 12-3pm - Visual Arts 209
Dec 5 - Open Class Day
Students can view classes, meet faculty & students, & attend Dance Concert
There are no makeup or private auditions
