Biography

Head of Design. Professor Robinson joined the School of Theatre faculty in 1992 teaching courses in scenic design, scenic art, and period styles. Prior to Penn State, he was Assistant Professor of Scenic Design at Ithaca College, and served as an adjunct professor for the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University. Regional and university work includes designs for The Classical Theatre of Harlem, Seacoast Repertory Theatre, United Solo Festival, Mill Mountain Theatre, Utah Shakespearean Festival, Illinois Shakespeare Festival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Pennsylvania Centre Stage, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Missouri Repertory Theatre, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, American Heartland Theatre, Ithaca College, and the University of Iowa. His television work includes design and scenic art for WPSU Public Television. He received his MFA from University of Missouri -- Kansas City studying under John Ezell, and his BFA from Webster University under the guidance of Carolyn Ross.† He is a member of USITT, and USA Local #829 in the Scenic Design and Scenic Artist Divisions.
