Our Friends

Dear Friends:

During our 2015-16 season, you brought life to the Titanic. You made space for conversations
about sexual violence with Good Kids. When it was 110 in the Shade, you made it rain on stage.
The nearly $20,000 that patrons of the arts gave to Centre Stage last year let us deliver another
exceptional season of theatre in Centre County.
We are able to do what we do because you believe in us. Our students, faculty, and visiting
professionals bring tremendous talent to the stage—but you give them a stage to stand on. Our
choreographers, set designers, lighting technicians, and more envision new worlds—and you
give them the resources to realize them. By supporting Centre Stage, you support a home for
young artists to discover their gifts and you show them the impact theatre has on everyone it
While Penn State provides a foundation for our work, we rely on the generosity of our
community to provide the resources we need to perform at the highest level. Gifts from people
like you help us to pay for show rights, costumes, technical equipment, set materials, music,
marketing, and more. With your gift, the show can go on. Let our students know that you love
the theatre and care about ensuring opportunity for artists by completing the attached form or
We’re thankful for your partnership, and we applaud every person who joins us in our mission
to make Centre County a home for the performing arts. We can’t wait to show you what’s next.

About Penn State Centre Stage
◆     As the professional arm of the Penn State School of Theatre, Penn State Centre Stage serves as the mentoring program for young theatre professionals embarking in the theatre business.
◆    Each production is produced from conception to completion at Penn State, utilizing skills mastered and taught by theatre faculty and other industry professionals. As a result, Penn State’s School of Theatre is one of the very best programs in the United States.
◆     The costs associated with producing professional theatre far exceed the price of admission. Major funding is provided by corporate donations and the generosity of individual members.
◆     Your contributions make it possible to hire the actors, designers, choregraphers, directors, and technicians who augment the resident company and make Penn State Centre Stage a truly “Professional Theatre.”

Your patronage will help us make all this possible while keeping ticket costs affordable, augmenting technical marvels, and supporting visiting artists and educators who come to share their craft.

Please join us—become a Penn State Centre Stage patron today.
We believe that just as a performance does not exist without its audience, a theatre cannot exist without its community. Thank you for being part of the Penn State theatre community; we look forward to having you with us.  As always, enjoy the show!

You can make a tax-deductible donation to Penn State Centre Stage by including a gift with your ticket order, or by phoning 888-800-9163, or by visiting GiveNow.psu.edu/PSCentreStage.
