B.F.A. Programs—Welcome!
Our goal in the School of Theatre is to educate and train talented students to compete successfully in the professional theatre. We start with the best applicants and vigorously strive to enhance the individual qualities and abilities in each student we accept. We make every effort to guide students toward becoming caring, contributing members of society in the twenty-first century.

We offer a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre and a B.F.A. in Theatre with either Design & Technology or Stage Management options. The B.F.A. programs are designed to help students prepare for direct entry into the professional world or graduate school. Those accepted into our B.F.A. programs embark on a rigorous four-year course of specialized study.

Penn State also provides students with the opportunity to attain a broad-based liberal arts education. All Penn State students take classes in arts, humanities, social and behavioral sciences, natural science, writing/speaking, health and physical activity, and quantification to fulfill the General Education requirements.
